- Language and population evolution
- Diachronic and synchronic study of language
- Dialect formation and evolution
- Archaeological and fossil evidence of language evolution
- Vertical and horizontal transmission of language
- Language and the brain
- Animal communication and human language
- Other language-related research
We cordially welcome all interested colleagues and students to attend! Please send abstracts (500-1,000 words) to CIEL8.2016@gmail.com in Microsoft Word .DOC or DOCX format by June 15, 2016. Formal invitations will be sent out about 2 weeks after submission. The conference will be conducted in English and Putonghua (Mandarin Chinese). Since there will be separate English and Putonghua sessions, please indicate your preferred presentation language when you submit the abstract.
